MALGA is an organization of Washington D.C. area local government professionals dedicated to exchanging ideas and information, developing the talents of its members, and understanding local government management issues.

MALGA’s membership includes assistants, analysts, program managers, and department heads from cities and counties throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

Participation in MALGA is an excellent and affordable way to receive high quality locally focused services on par with those offered by ICMA, GFOA and others. Membership in MALGA is inexpensive and many local governments have acknowledged the value of MALGA's services by covering the costs for their employees to participate.

Malga Membership Levels are as follows:

  • Full Member - for persons working in local government or a non-profit in support of local government
  • Corporate Member - for persons in the private sector
  • Student Member - for students
  • Associate Member - for anyone not included above
