09.25.2008: New Event Planned for October
Fiscal Sustainability Event planned for October 16, 2008 in Arlington, VA
As nearly every jurisdiction in the Washington area can attest, revenues are in a state of decline and the cost of living is increasing at a rapid rate. In these times of economic pressures, how do local governments continue to deliver essential services to their residents? What strategies must local governments examine in order to build a fiscally prudent and sustainable government? Come to MALGA’s roundtable discussion to hear how leaders in the region are tackling these issues and developing strategies to solve the fiscal challenges of FY 2010 and beyond. Learn how you can apply lessons learned to your jurisdiction on a variety of topics such as dealing with state budget cuts, service delivery demands, human services, environmental sustainability, transportation, other post employment benefits (OPEB), and more. The event will be held at Arlington County's Government Plaza located at 2100 Clarendon Boulevard. This facility is located on the Orange Line Metro at the Courthouse Metro Stop. Please RSVP by October 8th by contacting Jeffrey Bergin at 703-228-3420 or by email at jbergin@arlingtonva.us
